Welcome to Sunshine Coast Therapy and Assessment Services
We are a small private psychology practice located in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. We provide services and evidence based interventions to children from 3 to 12 years of age. The service is located in a great location with child and family friendly clinic space available, accessible parking and disability access.
Services and support provided includes early intervention and therapy supports, support for cognitive development and neurodiversity, relationship development, help with social functioning and behaviour, and assistance with anxiety and self development.
Assessment services include administration of verbal and nonverbal cognitive assessment, learning assessments including help with identification of Specific Learning Disorders (including ‘Dyslexia), and assessment of neurodiversity including ASD and ADHD.
We offer face to face appointments in Caloundra, or telehealth appointments if these are preferred. We also conduct home, kindergarten and school visits if these are required.
Sunshine Coast Therapy & Assessment Services is a child-focused psychology practice supporting children, parents and schools across the Coast with evidence-based, person-centred therapy and assessment.
Led by AHPRA-registered Psychologist and Board-Approved Supervisor Denise Kane, our team draws on established child and family programs – including Circle of Security, Bringing Up Great Kids, CBT (including Cool Kids for anxiety) and trauma-informed approaches such as DDP – to help families find practical strategies that improve everyday life. We prioritise clear information, collaborative planning with families and services, and a calm, professional environment that feels safe and welcoming for children.
Appointments and Referrals
We are available to talk you though your needs on initial contact. We offer a free 15 minute intake call to provide time to discuss the reason for the referral and to ensure your initial booking will meet both you and your child’s needs.
The initial appointment is booked as a parent only session, and this can occur either in our clinic rooms or by telehealth. This ensures any services provided meets individual needs. At this appointment we conduct an initial interview and also arrange consent. We will talk with you about the goals for psychology services and supports.
